First my appreciations to this site. Its a good question. Though I’m not willing to generalise others habits, I wish to say about myself that I read Fictions because these books when written by good authors make us to shift completely out of our worlds! Though these books are pressurising and compeling, it also makes the readers to bring them out of their daily/job oriented stress. They are very good entertainers during holidays, travelling and vacations. And certainly improves ones ability to think laterally.
Nice question. Made me rediscover myself that ‘why im reading Fiction?’. My stand is ,’Im reading fiction beacuse it make me generalise something. It keeps me in a world the author wants me to live,cherish and feel the story. Fiction not just ‘read’ by anyone but the story has been delivered directly by the author and we make a good friend when finishing every good book.
